Dis-able means that you are unable or not able. I believe everyone has a disability. Are you unable to complete task? Are you unable to be loved? Are you unable to show affection? Are you unable to commit? Are you unable to communicate how you really feel? Do you find it difficult to get others to understand you, or your point of view, or why you are the way you are? Is it difficult for you to keep friends or make friends? When things that you are unable to do become frustrating and you couldn’t vocally share it, how would you act? What’s your disability, and how do you handle it?

So today I started my new job, and I am working at a home for adults with disabilities. When I was first introduced to this job, I thought I couldn't do that job it sounds hard. As I was going through my training for this job, I began to realize that maybe it’s not for me. It has a lot of detailed work and there might be a outburst or behavioral issues, and I just didn't think that, that would be something that I could handle, but I stayed with it and was like well at least let me get in the home and see what it is all about before just giving up. As I pulled up to the house my heart felt like it was going to be beat through my chest. I didn't know what to expect I was nervous, worried didn't know if I was going to be scared of them, or worse they would be scared of me. But when I got into the house with these individuals my heart melted. They immediately came up to me and touched my arm, and said hi to me, and their smiles made me forget about everything in my life. When you spoke to some of them or got to close they would tense up, or become shy and cover their eyes. Others would just be in their own worlds and not say anything to you at all, but on occasion you would catch them looking at you they would smile and look away. As I read each one of their folders, I began to realize that the only time they have outburst or behavioral issues is when they are scared, hurt, or can’t be understood. (Wouldn’t we do the same if we couldn’t vocally express ourselves). When you spoke to them they would know exactly what you were saying even if they couldn't respond back, and they are so smart and talented. Here I am feeling sorry for them and wishing they weren’t the way that they were. Wondering, what does God have them on this earth to do? What is their assignment? Not realizing that they are perfect, they are exactly what God wants each one of us to be. They love life, and laugh every chance they get, they are not worried about money, cars, fashion, and material possessions. They cherish friendships and relationships and don’t judge or hate others. They don’t see color or cultures. They don't complain or allow difficult situations that come into their life stop them from completing goals they have for themselves. They are true over comers and special individuals, I love them already, I thought that I was being hired to better them, but instead they are bettering me.
